AIMMS

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

AIMMS is a modeling language and environment for creating decision support systems and so-called advanced planning applications. These are usually based on the mathematical methods of linear and non-linear programming (LP or NLP). AIMMS applications exist in many areas such as B. Supply chain management , production planning , logistics , forestry , risk management , revenue management and asset management .

In addition to the modeling language, AIMMS offers the option of using other frequently used modeling concepts such as B. to integrate rolling planning, calendar, unit conversion etc. into the applications. In addition, AIMMS allows the creation of interactive user interfaces and offers the possibility of using a variety of solvers, such as B. CPLEX , Gurobi , XPRESS , CONOPT , SNOPT , XA, BARON , LGO, KNITRO and IPOPT . Optimization problems from the areas of linear programming , non-linear programming , integer programming , quadratic programming can be described and solved with one system. About ODBC and ADO databases can be connected.

AIMMS is distributed by the Dutch company AIMMS BV (formerly Paragon Decision Technologies BV ). It has offices in the Netherlands, the USA and Singapore. It was founded in 1989 by the university professor Johannes Bischop. The first commercially available version was available in 1993. Since then, AIMMS has developed into one of the leading platforms in this area.
