AION Linguistica is a peer-reviewed linguistic journal. The magazine was founded in 1959 and is published by the University of Naples L'Orientale in Naples. The editor is Alberto Manco.

History and goals of the magazine

AION Linguistica was founded in 1959 by Walter Belardi . The second series was published from 1979 to 2011 in what was then the Dipartimento di Studi del Mondo classico e del Mediterraneo antico and edited by Domenico Silvestri ( ISSN  1724-6172 ). Alberto Manco has been chief editor since 2000. With the expansion of the new department Dipartimento di Studi Letterari, Linguistici e Comparati , the journal has been geared towards articles on broader areas of linguistics since 2012 (including the literary and comparative perspective).

The authors who have contributed to the journal since its inception include Walter Belardi, Françoise Bader, Jürgen Untermann , Michel Lejeune , Francisco Villar Liébana , Giuliano Bonfante , Helmut Rix , Aldo Luigi Prosdocimi, José Luis García Ramón and many more.
