ALBA-1 is a submarine cable used to transmit communications between Cuba and Venezuela .

The fiber optic cable was laid in 2011 and put into operation in 2013. ALBA-1 is named after the Latin American Bolivarian Alliance for America (Spanish: Alianza Bolivariana para los Pueblos de Nuestra América ). It runs between La Guaira (Venezuela), Siboney (Cuba) and Ocho Rios (Jamaica).
