Lydia Maria Seus

Lydia Maria Seus (born August 21, 1954 ) is a German social scientist and criminologist. She teaches as a professor for the sociological foundations of social work at the Catholic University of Social Affairs in Berlin and is known for her contributions to feminist criminology .

After studying educational sciences with a focus on social pedagogy at the Rhineland-Palatinate University of Education and the Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz , Seus completed a postgraduate course in criminology at the University of Hamburg and was there with her dissertation Adapt or protest? Forms of reaction of secondary school students to social control and their impact on their professional qualification process for Dr. phil. PhD . Since 2002 she has been teaching as a professor at the Catholic University of Social Sciences in Berlin.

Her academic focus is on: sociology of deviant behavior , gender and deviation, youth sociology , gender sociology and qualitative social research .
