history

The company was founded in 1987 by Georg Bogner and Harald Albrecht. In 1990 the company founded IP ARBO as a joint venture with IP SA (Havas Group). In 1998 the two owners made a management buy-out . With the acquisition of AdMaster Network , which was founded by Michael Gebert in 1997, Arbomedia had also become a leader in the online business. The IPO followed in 2000. In 2003 ARBOmedia was listed on the Prime Standard in Frankfurt am Main.

The company's listing on the stock exchange ended in 2011 as part of a squeeze-out process.

ARBOmedia AG has seven subsidiaries. The head office is in Munich, further company offices are in Prague, Warsaw, Moscow, Istanbul, Bucharest and Bratislava. ARBOmedia AG employs 550 people. After restructuring in March 2008, the company created different divisions. The core business is divided into the TV, print and online divisions.

The online activities are bundled under the ARBOinteractive division. The second division includes the print business, which continues to focus on marketing under ARBO Romania. With EMI (European Media Investment AG), the group has taken the position of operator for the first time by acquiring shares in Romanian publishing houses and printing companies. The third division focuses on the television business. The Czech Republic plays the leading role here, since the marketing of state television with the four channels CT1, CT2, CT24 (News) and CT4 (Sport) has been in the hands of ARBOmedia since 1991.
