ARGE data
The consortium data - Austrian Association for Data Protection is an Austrian non-profit organization based in Vienna . It was founded in 1983 and deals with questions of data protection , information law , telecommunications and the use of new technologies.
The association sees itself as an "initiative to protect privacy in times of global networking" and as an "advocate for personal rights "
For this purpose, the ARGE publishes data publications, organizes seminars and is in contact with research institutions, universities, business and the relevant authorities.

ARGE Daten provides information on the following topics on its website:
- Data transfer (spam, worms, phishing, selling data, etc.)
- E-card (sensitive medical data, health data, etc.)
- Social security number (student monitoring, electronic class register)
- Credit information (blacklists, cancellation claims), credit reporting agencies
- Video surveillance
- Help with official channels
The association operates the certification service provider A-CERT (see below) and the e-commerce rating project and trains corporate data protection officers .
A-CERT
A-CERT is an Austrian certification authority (Root-CA) operated by ARGE Daten. Among other things, client and server certificates are offered.
With the product "A-CERT ADVANCED" it is possible to obtain an advanced certificate according to SigG . This is suitable for digital invoicing.
