history
AZURIT Rohr GmbH was founded in 1997 by Steffen Krakhardt, Dieter Schöneich and Daniela Walt. At the time it was founded, the operating company was responsible for only one senior center in Rohr, Lower Bavaria (AZURIT senior center Haus ASAM). In 2007, ten years after it was founded, AZURIT Rohr GmbH operates 20 facilities and the company grew steadily by one or two facilities per year.
In 2011 the shareholders of AZURIT Rohr GmbH took over the 17 facilities and 1,600 employees of the insolvent Hansa operating company based in Oldenburg and founded Hansa Pflege & Residenzen GmbH.
The AZURIT group of companies includes 52 inpatient care facilities with 5,716 care beds and 3 outpatient services (as of January 2018).
Naming philosophy
The name AZURIT is derived from the mineral azurite of the same name and is regarded by the founders of the time as a natural symbol of age. The stone is shaped over time. Applied to humans, this means that they are shaped by their age.

Products
The AZURIT Group offers the following care options in its facilities:
- Inpatient care for people who are constantly dependent on care and help.
- Short-term care (vacation / prevention care) for people who want to use the care and support offer temporarily, up to four weeks.
- Special care for people with dementia .
- In some facilities there is also the option of assisted living or living with service.
- Outpatient care for people in need of care in their home environment.
