The abasia ( Greek ) is the inability to walk . It can occur as a psychologically induced gait disorder and be caused by diseases of the extrapyramidal system (e.g. Huntington 's disease , Wilson disease ) and the cerebellum ( ataxia ) or frontal lobe (gait apraxia ). When at the same time unable to stand, people used to speak of abasia astasia .
