The Abbotsford News is a Canadian local newspaper in Abbotsford , British Columbia and is the publisher Black Press published. More than 40,000 copies are printed twice a week and sold in Abbotsford and beyond in Mission wards.

The Abbotsford News claims to be one of the first local newspapers in the province of British Columbia, as their roots in Abbotsford Post were to be found, which was founded in 1906 by a native of Mission publisher John A. Bates. The Abbotsford Post was sold in 1922 and was in Abbotsford, Sumas and Matsqui news renamed. Further sales to new owners took place in 1938 and 1962. Black Press acquired Abbotsford News in 1997.

Abbotsford Times

The Abbotsford News competed against the Abbotsford Times until Black Press acquired the Abbotsford Times from Glacier Media and announced in December 2013 that it would no longer publish it due to the losses and lack of interest from employees in Black Press.
