Abderrazak Afilal

Abderrazak Afilal Alami Idrissi ( Arabic عبد الرزاق أفيلال, DMG ʿAbd ar-Razzāq Afīlāl ; * Around 1923 ) is a Moroccan union functionary and politician , the 1963-2006 General Secretary of the Trade Union Confederation UGTM (Union générale des travailleurs du Maroc) was.

Life

Abderrazak Afilal Alami Idrissi started teaching in 1948 . In 1955 he joined the Union marocaine du travail (UMT) union founded by Mahjoub Ben Seddik, but left it in 1960 to join the trade union federation with Hachem Amine, the former minister for public works M'hamed Douiri and later minister M'hamed El Khalifa UGTM (Union générale des travailleurs du Maroc) to be founded. In 1956 he also founded the national student association UNEM (Union nationale des étudiants du Maroc) with the future minister and two-time parliamentary president Abdelwahed Radi . In the following years he was a technical advisor and a member of delegations at international trade union congresses. Between 1959 and 1963 he was rector of schools in El Jadida , Kenitra , Meknes and Rabat and in 1963 he succeeded Hachem Amine as general secretary of the UGTM. He held this position until he was replaced by Mohamed Benjelloun Andaloussi in 2006. He was also vice-president of the African Trade Union Confederation from 1973 to 1980.

Afilal was politically active in the PI ( Parti de l'Istiqlal ) independence party and became a member of its executive committee in 1973. In the 1977 election he became a member of the PI's Assembly of Representatives (Chambre des représentants) and was a member of this until 1983. During his parliamentary membership, he was chairman of the committees on education and training, on agriculture and agrarian reform, on information, culture and Islamic affairs. He was also President of the Ain Sebaâ municipality from 1977 to 1992 . Most recently he was chairman of the Parti de l'Istiqlal parliamentary group between 1981 and 1983 . In 1990 he became a member of the Advisory Committee on Human Rights CCDH (Conseil consultatif des droits de l'homme) . From 1997 to 2002 he was again President of the Ain Sebaâ municipality.
