Trigger (line)

In installation technology, impressions are a pressure and leak test of installed pipelines by filling the pipeline system with water and, on larger construction sites, very often with air or nitrogen and applying pressure for a certain period of time . A measuring device can then be used to determine whether the pressure is being maintained or whether losses occur.

Depending on the application, pressures are required that correspond to a multiple of the operating pressure. On the one hand, this is necessary because a safety factor (often 1.3-1.8) has to be taken into account. On the other hand, in hot pipes due to higher pressure, the later load due to higher temperatures is simulated.

The pressure test is required by law before the commissioning of various systems for water , gas and heating installations and may only be carried out by authorized specialist personnel.

If a sewer has been laid, the pipelines are also pressed here. For this purpose, the line is closed with sealing bags .
