Abdul Jalilul Jabbar

Abdul Jalilul Jabbar was the eleventh Sultan of Brunei according to official census. He came to power in 1659 and ruled for only one year until his death in 1660. He was succeeded by his uncle Muhammad Ali .

Life

Abdul Jalilul Jabbar was the second son of Sultan Abdul Jalilul Akbar of his Javanese wife Radin Mas Ayu Siti Aishah . Another brother was the future Sultan Muhyiddin and a half-brother of the Pengiran Muda Besar Abdullah . Before his accession to the throne, he held the title of Raja Tengah Aliuddin .

Abdul Jalilul Jabbar was married to Radin Kesuma Puteri , the daughter of Sultan Ibrahim Ali Omar Shah of Sarawak . From this connection came Pengiran Di-Gadong Pengiran Muda Muhammad Shamsuddin . Another son from another connection was Pengiran Bendahara Pengiran Anak Untong .
