Abdulaziz Mohammed al-Chathran ( Arabic عبد العزيز محمد الخثران, DMG ʿAbdu 'l-ʿAzīz Muḥammad al-Ḫaṯrān , according to the English transcription Abdulaziz Al-Khathran ; * July 31, 1973 ) is a former Saudi Arabian soccer player . He won the Saudi Arabian championship twice and took part in the 2002 and 2006 world championships.

Career

Abdulaziz al-Chathran played in Dammam with al-Shabab at the beginning of the millennium , where he was discovered for the national team . At the 2002 World Cup , he was seeded and in all three preliminary round games, in which the team disappointed badly. After that, the team was rebuilt and al-Chathran was no longer part of the line-up.

In the league he moved after the tournament to the Riyadh top team al-Hilal , with whom he won the championship and the national cup in 2005. In 2005 he was once again included in the national team when qualifying for the 2006 World Cup in Germany and was again in Saudi Arabia's squad . At his second World Cup, he was one of the oldest participants in the team and was used twice. In 2008 he won the double again with al-Hilal. After the 2009 championship, he left the club and joined al-Wahda in his hometown. Two years later he moved to al-Kawkab FC in the Saudi Arabian second division, where he retired in 2013.
