Abdullah Alqaseer

Abdullah Alqaseer ( Arabic عبد الله القصير, DMG ʿAbd Allāh al-Qaṣīr ; * 1976 in Salamiyya , Syria ) is a Syrian writer. He lives in Halle (Saale) .

Life

In Syria, Alqaseer studied Arabic at the Baath University in Homs and worked as a journalist for several years.

His first novel was published in 2018 under the title Kawābīs mustaʿmala ("Used Nightmares"). He had previously published a book of short stories which was published in the United Arab Emirates in 2015. In his books and stories written in Arabic, Alqaseer deals with events and the reality of life in Syria, a country with civil war, on the run and in the foreign new homeland.

  2. His work is documented, among other things, in a project to document traditional Syrian music on the esyria portal , where articles from 2009 , 2010 and 2013 can be found. In addition, Alqaseer claims to have worked for the magazine Šurafāt aš-Šām published by the Syrian Ministry of Culture, whose publications and activities (literary competitions) are mentioned on other news sites in 2009 and 2010 ; no direct references.
