The Baath University ( Arabic جامعة البعث, DMG Ǧāmiʿat al-Baʿṯ ), founded in 1979, is a public university in the city of Homs , Syria (180 km north of the capital Damascus ). It is Syria's fourth largest university.
Baath University has 22 faculties, five intermediate faculties, 40,000 regular students, 20,000 open learning students, 1,310 higher education students and 622 faculty members in Hama and Homs. The library contains almost 63,000 volumes (as of 2011).
