Abe Hidetaka

Hidetaka Abe ( Japanese 阿 部 秀 孝 , Abe Hidetaka ) is a master of Wadō-ryū Karate and one of the three oldest students of Hironori Ōtsuka . He graduated with the 7th Dan Wadō-Ryū and the 2nd Dan Jūdō . At the age of 13 he started to train martial arts . At Meiji University in Tokyo , he began to practice karate under Ōtsuka. Meanwhile, he was co-captain of the All-Japan Collegiate Championship Team from 1965. In 1967 he went to Berkeley and began teaching as a head instructor at the UC Karate Club.
