Abeto Hun
Abeto Hun (also Abetahun , äthiop. አቤቶሁን ) was a title at the court of the Negus Negest ( emperor ) of Ethiopia and means, in a sense, be a master . Initially, in the 16th century, the title roughly corresponded to that of a crown prince . Abeto Hun later became a title for members of the imperial family and members of the families of the highest dignitaries at court. Over time the importance of the title declined. Abeto was initially used as a short form . Today's short form Ato is mainly used in Shewa as a salutation, corresponding to the German gentleman .
