Abid Hamid Mahmud at-Tikriti († June 7, 2012 ) ( Arabic عبد حميد محمود التكريتي, DMG ʿAbid Ḥamīd Maḥmūd at-Tikrītī ), a distant cousin of Saddam Hussein and his closest confidante, was in his function as the dictator's private secretary as the fourth most powerful man in Saddam Hussein's Iraq . He was sheikh of the two tribes Albu Nasir and Albu Chattab . Abid controlled access to Saddam Hussein and the activities of various secret services .

On June 16, 2003, Abid Hamid Mahmud at-Tikriti was captured by US forces. On June 7, 2012, he was executed for genocide related to the suppression of Iraqi Shiites in the 1980s .
