A cooling grid is a kitchen appliance that is intended to improve the cooling of food, mostly baked goods , before consumption or further processing.

The grille improves the flow of ambient air around the object to be cooled and prevents moisture from collecting on the underside. The best-known form of the cooling rack is the wire rack. These usually have a round shape with a diameter of 32 cm and are used to cool down round cakes and pies . In the professional sector, angular or even multi-story variants are also used.

The grids are often made of bent and welded wire, which is then chrome-plated or plastic-coated to protect against oxidation .
