Rejection Front (Palestinians)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

As the Palestinian rejection front ( Arabic جبهة الرفض, DMG ǧabhat al-farḍ ) is the name given to the consultative and coordinative association of Palestinian groups. The front came into being at the beginning of the 1990s after the Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine split off from the PLO , and consists of several organizations that oppose the Oslo peace process and reject peace with Israel .

Already after the armistice in the October war a "rejection front" (literally: front of the Palestinian forces that reject the capitulant solutions ) had formed within the PLO in 1974 , which included the PFLP , the PFLP General Command, the ALF and the PPSF (Palestinian Popular Struggle Front).

The current opposition front includes the PFLP, DFLP , ALF, As-Saʿiqa and other PLO splinter groups as well as Hamas , the Lebanese Hezbollah and Islamic Jihad . The rejection front is home to Syria and supported by Iran , which has set up a "Liberation Army for al-Quds (Jerusalem)". However, the groups are divided over how to proceed against peace, and not all support attacks or armed confrontation. Some agree to at least a temporary ceasefire.
