Tee shot (football)

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

The tee shot is a continuation of the game in football. It should not be confused with the kick .

The goalkeeper plays the tee shot out of the penalty area. It can be executed after the goalkeeper has picked up a ball from the opponent in the course of the game or after he has received a ball from a teammate, observing the back-pass rules . The goalkeeper must not be attacked, touched or disturbed by any opponent when teeing off. A tee shot can be done by hand volley , but also by drop kick .

A tee shot should be made within six seconds while the goalkeeper controls the ball with his hands before releasing it for play. The goalkeeper can take any number of steps within these six seconds.

A tee shot can, in contrast to a goal kick, lead to offside.
