Closing note

The final note is an entry in the investigation files in criminal matters , with which the public prosecutor documents the end of the investigation ( Section 169a StPO ). The final report is part of the final rulings .

At the latest when the investigation is concluded, the public prosecutor's office will decide whether to bring a public complaint or discontinue the proceedings .

After the closing note has been made, the defense attorney must be given unrestricted access to the files ( Section 147 (2) of the Code of Criminal Procedure). Except for those that reference files that serve only internal administrative purposes and may include, for example, information on set procedures.
