The Abtshof , also called Aussemerhof, is a listed courtyard in Oberaußem , a district of Bergheim in the Rhein-Erft district .

history

The courtyard was first mentioned in 1028 in a document about a donation to the imperial abbey Kornelimünster . In the Middle Ages , the Oberaussemer Mannkammer was located in the hall of the estate , from which the tithe due to the monastery was collected.

The Abtshof today

After the dissolution of the monasteries as part of secularization , the Abtshof fell to the city of Bergheim, which sold it to a private person in 1820. After it was sold again in 1905, the courtyard was divided into the two courtyards that still exist today, which can be seen, among other things, from the window in the center of the façade, which was bricked up during the construction of a partition.

The Abtshof way chapel is located in the Abtshof .
