Abū l-Laith as-Samarqandī

Abū l-Laith as-Samarqandī ( Arabic أبو الليث السمرقندي, DMG Abū l-Laiṯ as-Samarqandī ; born 944 ; died 983 ) was a Hanafi Faqih and high school theologian. His most famous work is his Koran exegesis ( tafsīr ) entitled Baḥr al-ʿUlūm , commonly known as Tafsīr as-Samarqandī .
