Badge for navy pilots on seaplanes
The badge for naval pilots on seaplanes was donated by Kaiser Wilhelm II on May 31, 1913 and could be awarded to officers , non-commissioned officers and men who have acquired a certificate of proficiency as a naval pilot at a naval pilot station.
Appearance
The oval badge shows in the middle the depiction of the island of Helgoland washed by the sea , above which an eagle flying to the left can be seen, which is overlaid by the rays of the sun. It is surrounded by a wreath of oak leaves (right) and laurel (left) and crowned by the imperial crown.
Carrying method
The award was worn as a pin badge on the left chest.
