Badge for the Ernst Thälmann banner
The badge for the Ernst Thälmann banner of honor was an award of the Free German Youth of the German Democratic Republic (GDR), which was donated in 1973 and awarded once this year. The award was made to those collective members who had already been honored with the Ernst Thälmann banner in the form of a flag by the Central Council of the FDJ in the course of the 10th World Festival in East Berlin . The badge is 36 mm tall and shows a waving flag with a red grained background in the middle of which the portrait of Ernst Thälmann can be seen on a round medallion . The lower edge of the flag shows the dark blue ribbon FESTIVAL OFFER .
