Achatinella buddii is an extinct species of snail from the genus Achatinella , a group of 41 tree-dwelling snail taxa that are found only on the Hawaiian island of Oahu .

description

Achatinella buddii achieved a housing length of 2.0 centimeters and a housing diameter of 1.0 centimeters. The sturdy case was conical, egg-shaped and left-handed. The six arched turns were slightly edged at the top. The seams were moderately perforated and banded in white. The mouth was egg-shaped. The lip was pointed and thickened inside. The housing shell was yellowish blue-gray or light brown. The spindle and the muzzle were white.

Occurrence

Achatinella buddii was widespread in the valleys of Wailae, Palolo, Manoa and at the head of Makiki.

Achatinella buddii was last seen around 1900. Presumably, the species disappeared through overcrowding and deforestation.
