Achim Barbknecht (2018)

Achim Karl Bruno Barbknecht (born March 6, 1970 ) is a German basketball official .

Life

Barbknecht became managing director of the Dortmund City Sports Association in September 2004, and his term of office ended at the end of May 2007.

On June 1, 2007, he took up the position of managing director of DBBL GmbH, the operator of the women's basketball league . In 2016 he negotiated a contract with the Berlin greeting and occasion card manufacturer Planet Cards GmbH to take over the league name, so that the first and second women's Bundesliga were run under the name “Planet Photo Women's Basketball Bundesliga” from June 1, 2016. In January 2020, he resigned as managing director of DBBL.
