Achim Eckert

Achim Eckert (born September 1956 in Baden near Vienna ) is an alternative medicine specialist and author of works on u. a. Traditional Chinese Medicine , Shiatsu and Meridian Massage . Furthermore, he has dealt with various body therapy approaches and combined them into his own concept, which he teaches under the name Tao Training .

Life

Achim Eckert is the son of the Austrian business lawyer and deacon Franz Eckert . He first studied law and medicine and then went to Asia for three years. In India he learned Shiatsu, Traditional Chinese Medicine and meditation in the Ashram of Osho in Pune. He worked for a year at Dehiwala Hospital in Sri Lanka , where he studied acupuncture and modern Chinese medicine with Anton Jayasuriya . He later went to California , where he learned postural integration with Jack Painter . He has been researching and teaching these alternative medical methods since the mid-1980s.

Between 1989 and 1995 Eckert headed a research project in which he tested the locations of the classical Chinese meridian points . As a result of this research work, he published the Tao of acupuncture and acupressure , which in addition to the alleged exact location of the points describes in detail an assumed mental , emotional and energetic spectrum of effects of the points. Eckert's first book The Healing Tao - The Teaching of the Five Elements is his most successful book to date, is internationally regarded as a standard work on the five-element teaching and has been translated into eight languages ​​so far. Then he dealt with an alleged "bioenergetic" and psychological spectrum of effects of the "eight extraordinary vessels" of traditional Chinese medicine and published the results in eight wonder meridians in his own Dào publishing house.
