Achnamara ( Gaelic : Ach Na Mara ) is a residential building in the Scottish city ​​of Port Charlotte on the Hebridean island of Islay . It is a residential building that is the last building on the east side of the city's Main Street to the south . On August 28, 1980, Clark Cottage was added to the Scottish List of Monuments in Category C.

The exact construction time of the building has not been handed down, so that only the early 19th century can be given as the construction period. Achnamara is located directly on the road at the head of a rectangular plot of land that stretches almost 60 m in length to the rocky coast of Loch Indaal Bay . Achnamara is built in traditional construction on a floor area of ​​11 × 9 m 2 . The entrance door is set centrally in the western front. This side of the two-story building has five symmetrically arranged lattice windows . The house is free-standing to the south and has a single lattice window. This side of the house is plastered using the traditional Harling technique. The building ends with a slate-covered gable roof . To the north of Achnamara there is another building, which is only built on one storey and is dominated by this. This house called Clark Cottage is also a listed building.
