Drawbar

Drawbar (attached to the lower links)

A drawbar or hitch rail is a connecting device on a tractor consisting of a steel plate or rod . While older models were rigidly attached, today's models are attached to the lower links of the rear three-point hydraulic system . According to DIN 9676, the rail is provided with 33 mm bores, to which various attachments can be attached. The devices must be connected or disconnected by hand. The height of the drawbar can be controlled via the rear hydraulics when it is attached to the lower links .

Meaning today

The importance of the drawbar has decreased significantly in recent years. It cannot cope with the loads of today's machines. In addition, the previous advantage of height regulation can now be achieved more precisely using the device's own double-acting cylinder. Today's applications are mostly limited to smaller high-pressure presses and as a bracket for car ball head couplings .
