Actic Fitness is a Swedish fitness company headquartered in Stockholm. The fitness chain, which operates in Scandinavia and Europe , was founded in Sweden in 1981 under the then name Nautilus Gym . Actic Fitness currently operates 178 fitness studios in 4 countries, 25 of them in Germany and one in Austria. The studios are located in Sweden, Norway , Germany and Austria . Actic Fitness relies on a combination of fitness, courses and swimming, which is why all of the studios in German-speaking countries can also be found in local swimming pools. In total, over 250,000 members train at Actic in all studios.
Company history
Actic Fitness operated under the name Nautilus Gym until the name change in 2010. In 1981 the company Nautilus Gym was founded in Sweden. Ten years later, in 1991, a studio was opened for the first time in an existing swimming pool. The gym chain expanded rapidly in the 1990s and 2000s and currently has more than 170 studios in Sweden, Norway, Germany and Austria. Sweden has the highest number of studios with over 110 studios.
Actic Fitness GmbH in Germany and Austria
Actic Fitness GmbH, based in Bonn, operates 26 studios in Germany and Austria. A total of around 10 employees work in the Bonn headquarters. In total, the branches of both countries had around 24,000 members in February 2018.
