Action Congress

The Action Congress ( AC ) was a political party in Nigeria . The AC was considered liberal, but had no political program and did not represent the interests of certain sections of the population. Rather, it served more as an election platform for aspiring politicians.

The AC was formed in September 2006 through the merger of the Alliance for Democracy , the Justice Party , the Advanced Congress of Democrats and other opposition parties. The party's chairman was Hassan Zurmi . In 2010, the Action Congress changed its name to the Action Congress of Nigeria . In 2013 the Action Congress of Nigeria joined forces with the Congress for Progressive Change (CPC), with the All Nigeria People's Party (ANPP) and with parts of the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA) to form the All Progressives Congress .
