Action Press (spelling action press ) is a picture agency founded in 1970 and based in Hamburg . According to Kress , it is one of Germany's leading press photo agencies.

history

The action press agency was founded in 1970. In 1998 Moritz Hunzinger bought it for the equivalent of 10 million euros for infas Holding AG, which in turn sold it to SilverHub Media in London in 2016. Action press has been independent and privately owned since 2018 . The long-time managing director Ulli Michel was the sole shareholder. In August 2020, Hunzinger joined the group of shareholders and runs the agency together with Michel. Since then, both have formed the board of the newly founded parent company, action press AG, based in Frankfurt am Main, and are also half of the owners.

As of July 2020, action press has archived 35 million images in digitized form; between 14,000 and 18,000 images are tagged per day.

As a picture agency, action press offers editorial services for media customers, organizes national and international photo orders, photo shoots, reports and video productions for companies. The picture agency delivers content to customers from various picture collections, such as B.
