Moritz Hunzinger
Moritz Hunzinger (* 26. January 1959 in Frankfurt am Main ) is a German public relations - consultant . From 1979 to 2004 he was chairman of the board of infas Holding AG , trading as Action Press Holding AG , formerly Hunzinger Information AG , until 2013 . Since March 1, 2007 he has been the managing director of GFI Gesellschaft für Informationswirtschaft GmbH and since August 1, 2020 CEO (board member) of action press AG .
Career
Hunzinger, the twin son of a Wehrmacht officer and a Lufthansa stewardess in the first course, spent most of his childhood in Frankfurt. He attended high school and some years the boarding Institut auf dem Rosenberg in Swiss St. Gallen , which he no school left and moved back to a high school in Frankfurt. From 1975 to 1977 he attended the Valley Forge Military Academy in Wayne, Pennsylvania and graduated on June 5, 1977. In 1973 he became a member of the Junge Union .
At the age of 20, Hunzinger founded Hunzinger PR GmbH in 1979, which worked for representatives from politics and business. In 1996 he acquired the infas Institute for Applied Social Science and became its chairman of the board . In 1998 he brought Hunzinger Information AG to the Neuer Markt of the Frankfurt Stock Exchange . In 1999, Hunzinger Information AG bought action press gmbh in Hamburg , one of the world's largest press photo agencies , and Moritz Hunzinger also became chairman of the management there. In 2000 negotiations with Josef von Ferenczy about the purchase of his agency failed .
From 2004 to 2013 the group operated as Action Press Holding , since 2013 as infas Holding AG. According to Bolko Hoffmann , the major shareholder of Effecten-Spiegel AG who died in 2007 and who acquired the majority of shares in Hunzinger Information AG in 2002, Hunzinger left the company in 2004 due to differing views on the reorientation of the group. On September 12, 2007, the Düsseldorf Higher Regional Court decided on his pension entitlement of EUR 220,000 per year.
Hunzinger's business activities and his public reputation are based on the establishment of contacts between interest groups, politicians and the German economy. He became known to a broad public through his controversial advisory work for the then Federal Defense Minister Rudolf Scharping and the award of a cheap private loan to the then Bundestag member Cem Özdemir , the so-called Hunzinger affair . In September 2002, Hunzinger - honored by the German Public Relations Society with the Silver Needle - was therefore publicly sponsored by the German Council for Public Relations (DRPR) - one supported by the German Public Relations Society (DPRG) and the Society for Public Relations Agencies (GPRA) Organ of voluntary self-regulation - reprimanded. From the reason: "He [...] gave the public the impression that this was standard PR practice."
From 1999 to 2003, Hunzinger was the federal treasurer of the Christian Democratic Workers' Union (CDA) and until 2004 its trustee . He advised the European Commission on questions of cooperation with the countries of Eastern and Central Europe, assigned to the cabinet of the then EU Vice President Martin Bangemann . Chairman of the Advisory Board of Brocard Parfums GmbH, the leading perfumery trading company in Ukraine, since 2015 (from 2003 to 2015 Deputy Chairman of the Supervisory Board of Brocard Group GmbH & Co. KGaA).
For an unsworn false statement before the FlowTex - Investigative Committee of the Baden-Württemberg state parliament Hunzinger was sentenced in 2008 to a fine of 250 daily rates of 100 euros. Hunzinger had tried to exonerate the then Minister of Economics Walter Döring . Döring had commissioned an image survey from a subsidiary of Hunzinger Information AG, the infas Institute for Applied Social Science , which was paid for by Hunzinger Information AG and a subsidiary of the FlowTex Group.
Since 2014, Hunzinger has held the university professorship for PR and communication at the Faculty of Socio-Economic Education and is thus the first foreign faculty member of the National Pedagogical Drahomanow University . On May 6, 2017, he was elected to the supervisory board of the National Drahomanov Pedagogical University in Kiev.
Since January 1, 2016, Hunzinger has been President of the Board of Directors of the mobile payment company Cashcloud AG and Board Member of the automobile manufacturer and vehicle finisher Gemballa Holding SE , interim CEO of Mars One Ventures AG from December 2, 2016 to July 3, 2017. Member of the akabenos ag since November 1, 2018. Hunzinger has been the managing director of action press gmbh and CEO (board member) of action press ag since August 2020 .
criticism
In August 2019, Hunzinger published an entry on Facebook on the page of the Frankfurt CDU politician Matthias Zimmer , in which he wrote: "With Kohl there would be no such horrible mass immigration of savages." He called this statement "plain text", which once "pronounced must be. He further affirmed that he was "like a one" to Germany. The Frankfurter Rundschau called Hunzinger's statements "shabby racism " and criticized that "the concept of the 'savage' is implicit in the dehumanizing devaluation". In press releases, Hunzinger pointed out that he had added to his comment: “I'm not talking about refugees, but about people marauding and murdering through our country. For me they are wild ”.
Trivia
In 1986, Hunzinger was entered in the Guinness Book of Records for the assembly of an oversized Swatch watch on an office building .
