As assumpsit or assumpsit an earlier form of action to be called in English law damages ( english damages ) for non-performance of a contract .

history

Originally, English law under stock corporation law did not have any action in the event of a breach of contract . Only the action of covenant and the action of debt were available to enforce promises. In the 16th century, the action of trespass ultimately developed into the action of non-fulfillment of the contract.

With the Common Law Procedure Act 1852 , the action law system of forms of action was abolished.
