Ad multos annos ( lat. : "In many years") is a Roman Greek from the ancient originating Congratulations , the particularly as acclamation was in use for higher ranking people. In the Orthodox liturgy , the call ( Greek εἰς πολλὰ ἔτη) is part of the Polychronion . In the Roman Catholic liturgy it was an element of the episcopal ordination rite until the liturgical reform . Today the Latin phrase is still used in greetings and toasts in academic and ecclesiastical circles .
