The Adam Mickiewicz Theater (Polish Teatr in. Adama Mickiewicza ) was built from 1902 to 1909 with 770 seats in the style of Viennese neo-baroque in Teschen as the German Theater in Teschen and opened in 1910 with a play by Grillparzers . Although the initiators had decided that a Polish-language play should never be performed, it was contradicted by the performance of a Polish play by Aleksander Fredro in 1920 .

The theater was named after Adam Mickiewicz after the First World War . After the outbreak of the Second World War, the theater was renovated, but later closed and the actors called up for military service or conscripted. In the People's Republic of Poland it was re-established as an institution and reopened again with a play by Aleksander Fredro.
