Adams State University

The Adams State University is a state university in Alamosa in southern US state of Colorado . 2308 students are enrolled at the university. It is a so-called Liberal Arts College .

history

The university was founded in 1921 as Adams State Normal School primarily for teacher training, named after the former governor of Colorado William Adams .

Sports

Adams State University's sports teams are the Grizzlies . The university is a member of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference.

Trivia

The murderer and self-taught mathematician Christopher Havens , who is imprisoned near Seattle and whose scientific publication on number theory attracted media attention, is a student at the university because, unlike most other US universities, no internet access is required to complete a distance learning certificate there .
