Adelrich Danioth (born November 4, 1828 in Andermatt ; † November 8, 1899 there ) was a Swiss politician and hotelier .

biography

Adelrich Danioth was born on November 4, 1828 into a Catholic family as the son of Julius Danioth, the valley woman of Urseren and Rasierers. After attending the monastery school in Lucerne, Danioth worked as a weibel , advocate , court and valley clerk as well as federal snow break director. He also had the Hotel Oberalp and the Grand Hotel built in Andermatt.

Adelrich Danioth, who was married twice, died on November 8, 1899 at the age of 71 in Andermatt.

politics

Adelrich Danioth acted from 1854 to 1864 and from 1882 to 1898 as District Administrator of the Canton of Uri . From 1864 to 1881 he was Councilor and member of the Commission of the Interior. He also served as Talammann von Ursern from 1882 to 1885 and from 1894 to 1898 . In addition, he took on the role of criminal judge from 1889 to 1891. As a supporter of the state, the politician, feared for his quick-wittedness, was fiercely opposed by the conservative side.
