Adimaro Sala

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Adimaro Sala († 2011 ) was an Italian filmmaker and author.

Life

Sala began his work in the film business in the early 1950s as a make- up artist , then produced two forgotten genre films and worked as a production manager for two others. In 1963 he first directed; his debut Il Mito was censored because of the nude scenes of the leading actress Lydia Alfonsi . Even a re-performance in 1967 under a new title could not make the work a financial success. After three more films, some of which were only shown for the first time many years after completion and which also fell short of economic expectations, Sala published La notte dell'ultimo giorno, his swan song about the impossibility of creating art for the cinema.

After more than thirty years, Sala reappeared as an author in 2006 when he presented his first novel, Eddie l'allegro ( ISBN 978-8889672259 ); Merluzzi e baccalà hanno occhi differenti followed in 2007 ( ISBN 978-8889672143 ).
