Adolf Gebauer

Adolf Gebauer (* 1941 in Bachorzyn , Poland ) is a German-Czech composer who lives in Wuppertal .

The son of a Czech mother and a German father studied violin and composition in Prague . In 1980 he moved to the Federal Republic of Germany.

Adolf Gebauer played as a violinist in the Amsterdam Philharmonic, in the Prague Radio Symphony Orchestra and most recently in the Wuppertal Symphony Orchestra . He writes chamber and orchestral music, song cycles, flute, harp and organ works. Gebauer's works have been recorded by various artists.
