Adolf Traussnig

Adolf Traußnig (born April 18, 1903 in St. Stefan im Lavanttal , † October 9, 1990 in Wolfsberg ) was an Austrian politician ( ÖVP ) and farmer. He was a member of the Carinthian state parliament and member of the Austrian National Council .

Life

After completing elementary and community school, Traußnig attended the agricultural school in Wolfsberg and, after internships in Tyrol and Switzerland, took over his father's farm in 1934. He was active as a member of the parish council of St. Stefan im Lavanttal and was chairman of the Wolfsberg District Chamber of Farmers. Between 1934 and 1938 he was a member of the Carinthian Parliament during the period of Austro-Fascism . As a result of the National Socialist takeover, Traussnig was in Gestapo detention for several weeks . After the end of the Second World War, Traußnig became involved in the Austrian People's Party, which he represented in the National Council between December 19, 1945 and November 8, 1949 and between March 15, 1955 and June 8, 1956.

Adolf Traußnig was the father of the FPÖ member of the state parliament and district captain of Wolfsberg Arthur Traußnig .
