Adrastos of Kyzikos
Adrastos of Kyzikos ( ancient Greek Ἄδραστος ) was an ancient Greek mathematician from Kyzikos . His life dates are not known. He is mentioned in the Chronicle of Castor of Rhodes .
Augustine passed on a passage from the lost work De gente populi Romani by Marcus Terentius Varro , which in turn refers to the Chronicle of Castor of Rhodes. There Dion of Naples and Adrastus are named as witnesses for a miraculous sign of the planet Venus and are called well-known (nobiles) mathematicians. That happened at the time of King Ogyges .
No other life circumstances or works are known of him.
