Adrian Paenza

Adrián Arnoldo Paenza (born May 9, 1949 in Buenos Aires ) is an Argentine journalist , author and mathematician .

Paenza received his doctorate in mathematics in 1979 under Miguel Herrera at the University of Buenos Aires (Propiedades de corrientes residuales en el caso de intersecciones no completas). He is a professor at the University of Buenos Aires and a journalist who has worked for radio, television and major newspapers in Argentina. He was a moderator for TEDx Buenos Aires.

In 2014 he received the Leelavati Prize of the International Mathematical Union for his contributions to popularizing mathematics in Argentina .

His children's books on mathematics (one of which was also translated into German) were bestsellers in Argentina, including a series of books with the series title * Matemática ... ¿estás ahí?
