Adriana Monti

Adriana Monti (* 1951 in Milan ) is an Italian film director and screenwriter .

Monti worked as an assistant director to Luigi Comencini and presented her first own works with experimental video films. In addition, she made documentaries. In 1988 she made her first feature film, Gentili signore , as an independent producer and on 16mm , which won an award at the Bellaria Festival but was only available for distribution in a very small number of copies. After further documentary work, she went to Canada in 1996, where she worked as a reporter for OMNI Televisions and founded her own company, A&Z Media. In 2010 and 2012 she presented further works that deepened her feminist approach. She worked with the artist Mark Thompson and the musician Ruth Budd .
