Advanced Technologies Group AT-10

from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

AT-10 is an English airship type of the Advanced Technologies Group (ATG).

Intended as an advertising medium and for pilot training, the airship is designed as a 4-5-seater impact airship and is only intended to be the first ship in various series. He also implemented knowledge gained from the construction of the Sentinel 1000 .

The maiden voyage took place in Cardington on the sunny morning of March 28, 2002 . There it was in Hangar No. 1 was built. This was followed by further test flights. On March 4, 2004 it received the "Airship Special Category Certificate of Air Worthiness" approval from the British Aviation Authorities ( CAA ).

The shell can be illuminated from the inside. In contrast to most other airships today, the AT-10 has only one ballonet , which is arranged above the nacelle within the envelope.

The nacelle is also known as the payload module on this ship. In it, the pilot's seats (1 or 2 depending on the version) are arranged in front of a large window for a good overview. Up to four passengers can get on through a door on the left and also have a good view through large windows. Behind the passenger compartment there is a toilet and the technical equipment for operating the ship. In November 2002 there were plans to build more ships of this type at Cargolifter AG .

The chassis consists of two oil-dampened spring struts with tires. It is driven by two 2- stroke diesel engines , each with 75 kW peak and 60 kW continuous output. The propellers can be swiveled for better maneuverability .

It is controlled via a fly-by-light system, for which an autopilot is also provided. The low-pressure pneumatic actuators as final control elements are hardly at risk from electromagnetic interference or lightning strikes because of their low susceptibility.
