The Aerokopter AK1-3 Sanka is a single-engine, two-seat helicopter with a piston engine from the Ukrainian manufacturer Aerokopter .
history
The machine had its first flight under the designation AK1-5 on October 12, 2001. The first model of the AK1-3 flew in July 2003 and was approved by the Ukrainian aviation authorities on June 30, 2006. The nickname Sanka comes in honor of Chief designer Sapischni Alexander Nikolayevich , who died in an aircraft accident. The AK1-3 was designed according to the principles of the CS-27 approval regulation, but is not approved according to CS-27 due to components that are not approved for aviation (e.g. engine), but is approved as an experimental helicopter.
The AK1-3 is delivered as a kit or fully built, the new price should be 200,000 USD .
technology
The helicopter is powered by an engine made by the Japanese automaker Subaru . The water-cooled four-cylinder boxer engine with the designation EJ-25 is also used in the automotive industry in the Subaru Impreza or Subaru Forester models.
The three-blade main rotor and the two-blade tail rotor are made of composite materials . A skid landing gear is used as the landing device.
