The health insurance Aerosana Versicherungen AG merged with Progrès Versicherungen AG on January 1, 2011, both subsidiaries of the Helsana Group. Since then, those insured with Aerosana have been looked after by Progrès . Aerosana's market presence ended with the merger.

The core business was the basic insurance according to the Health Insurance Act . Aerosana Versicherungen AG worked together with Helsana Zusatzversicherungen AG on voluntary supplementary insurance for supplementary health care, hospital treatment, long-term care, dental treatment as well as loss of wages and capital insurance.

history

Aerosana was founded as an association in Kloten in 1987 by a group of Swissair pilots at the time . After the insurance portfolio had fallen to around 6,000 people by the end of 2005 following the bankruptcy of Swissair in 2001, Aerosana joined the Helsana Group at the beginning of 2006. This converted the association into a foundation and realigned the health insurance company as an independent brand with a focus on insured persons between 30 and 40 years of age as well as families on the market, which led to a sharp increase in insured persons and the premium volume. As part of the concentration of activities at the new Helsana headquarters, the Aerosana headquarters were relocated to Dübendorf in 2008.

As part of the strategic realignment of the Helsana Group in June 2010, the Helsana subsidiaries Aerosana and Progrès merged on January 1, 2011. The Aerosana policyholders thus had access to the more comprehensive range of services from Progrès. The merger strengthens the financial strength and increases the entrepreneurial leeway in favor of the insured.
