The Progrès Insurance Company Ltd , based in Dübendorf is the health insurance specialized Swiss insurance company of the Helsana Group.

Field of activity

The core business of Progrès Versicherungen AG is the compulsory basic insurance according to the Health Insurance Act and optional supplementary insurance for supplementary benefits in health care, hospital treatment, long-term care, dental treatment as well as loss of wages and capital insurance.

Progrès Insurance Ltd works with the Helsana Group for supplementary insurance .

history

Progrès was founded in Le Locle in 1903 and was a local health insurance company operating in the canton of Neuchâtel until the end of the 1980s . From the beginning of the 1990s, as part of the Helsana Group, the company expanded its business activities initially to the whole of western Switzerland and later to all of Switzerland. In 2004 the company, previously organized as a foundation , was converted into a stock corporation. As part of the concentration of activities at the new Helsana headquarters, the headquarters of Progrès Insurance was relocated from La Chaux-de-Fonds to Dübendorf in 2008 . On January 1, 2011, Progrès merged with the basic insurer Aerosana Versicherungen AG, also a subsidiary of the Helsana Group. With the brand harmonization of the Helsana Group on June 16, 2013, Progrès lost its own brand identity and only communicates under the Helsana umbrella. Progrès Versicherungen AG continues to be an independent legal entity and legal entity.
